For most of its 99-year history, the Lincoln Continental was the pinnacle of luxury, the car of kings and presidents. The Continental was born in 1938, when Henry Ford’s son Edsel commissioned designers to make a convertible he could drive during his spring vacation to Palm Beach. Getting you from New York to London in just half an hour with a top speed of Mach 10, which is 10 times the speed of sound, or around 8,000 miles per hour, it will make the Atlantic seem more like a lake than an ocean.
