New York Auto Show is Now Fully Canceled

New York Auto Show was canceled for 2020 and pushed to spring 2021.

The New York Auto Show, organized by the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, is typically held in April and draws over 1 million attendants. The event was scheduled to begin April 10 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. After COVID-19 swept into Europe and North America, the organizers delayed it until August but now they are saying they won’t be able to meet that deadline and officially canceled it for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The next show will take place April 2 to April 11, 2021 and press days will be March 31 and April 1.

Ford Revives Lincoln Continental at 2016 Detroit Auto Show

For most of its 99-year history, the Lincoln Continental was the pinnacle of luxury, the car of kings and presidents. The Continental was born in 1938, when Henry Ford’s son Edsel commissioned designers to make a convertible he could drive during his spring vacation to Palm Beach. Thrilled by the reception he got as he drove the elegant sedan, Edsel made the Continental part of Ford Motor Co.’s luxury Lincoln lineup. Continental sales peaked at 62,730 in 1990. More »

The 2016 Volvo XC90 midsize crossover SUV was awarded the best sport utility vehicle for 2016 on the opening day of the 2016 North American International Auto Show held at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit on Monday, January 11. The Honda Civic was announced as the North American Car of the Year.

BMW Chief Harald Krueger Collapses at Frankfurt Auto Show

The incident happened while he was standing beside the company’s hybrid electric i8 supercar and commenting on BMW’s latest models. Two staff members rushed to help him. It was the first appearance at a major auto show by Mr Krueger, 49. The new CEO took the top job at the German luxury carmaker in May.
